THE LONG ROAD

• THE LONG ROAD OF MY CARRIER!

Staue of Liberty, New York

After the demise of the Reptile's three of the group went on the road as 'One Man Band's'.

Pete Duffy, singer and song writer. Dave Cal, country and western music. Dave's idol is the late and great Johnny Cash.

I myself worked the length and breath of Ireland. Cork, Kerry and Dublin Mayo when it was played out. After a while I headed for London. I played all the Irish Pub's in London, and believe me there are a lot of Irish Pub's in London. Irrespective of how many venue's is in any city, if you stay too long you play yourself 'out'.

So, I headed for America. I played in New York in a three men group called 'Sunset'. With an old friend of mine Paddy McCarty from Cork, my home town, on drums. A fellow from Ireland as well, his name was Gus, played accordion.

After the break up of 'Sunset' I headed for Florida. I played for six month in Fort Lauderdale.

Then I went back to good old London and played the circuit again.

After some time I headed for the Algarve in Portugal, where I have remained ever since.

As for the long road: little did I know, it was just starting!
